Stories of Resilience is a collaboration between Merlion Project and A Good Space to celebrate the journey of changemakers in our community.
We held the first session of our series of Human Libraries in May at Give.Asia, where Toh Kian Beng from The Ubuntu Space and Jennifer Lim talked about what work and play means to them.
What is WORK?
What is PLAY?
On 10th May, we had a human library session, where Jennifer and Kian Beng shared openly on topics ranging from finance, to what work is to them.
With a cozy bay window overlooking the street, it was a relaxing afternoon filled with laughter and conversation.
“Resilience is a Virtue”
To Kian Beng, resilience is key — a value shaped by his kampung childhood and his mother’s simple lessons. His life journey sparked a deep curiosity about how play can help adults express emotion.
“What is your dream?”
Jennifer posed this question to the participants, leading to a moment of reflection for all. Coupled with the dreamboard making session after the human library, participants were able to look back to the past whilst dreaming for their future.
